Welcome to the Twins and Triplets Society Website

Nothing can quite prepare you for the news that you are expecting a multiple birth. Most people wonder how they will cope.  Help is at hand.  Welcome to a society of mothers who have been there, done that and have the oversized T-shirts.  TATS is made up of a wonderful group of people who will be able to help you allay your fears, calm the nerves, give very helpful advice and be a shoulder to cry on when you feel all is lost.  With a multible birth there is no such thing as too much help. If a member of TATS does not know the answer to a multiple question then it hasn't happened before.  It helps a huge deal when you realise that this has happened before and you will get over it.  There is also a very informative TATS magazine that is published that includes all the latest birth news, birthdays and great stories written by the members.  We hope to develop this site into a repository of information collected by the members that will be of use to you.

If you have something to buy or sell then send an email to support@tats-wc.co.za and it will be loaded into the classifieds.

Please download the application form below if you want to join the society.

Enjoy the start of a wonderful journey.

Coping with older twins

Melanie Arnold: meljon@absamail.co.za
Mother to 8 year old twins, Cameron and Chloe born in September 2001. I was convinced I could be a mother to twins and run a business from home with no help…..As you can imagine that didn’t last and some help was close at hand!!! 8 years later my kids are well behaved (thanks to routine from day one!) and at such a GREAT age!!! I run an electronic security business from home with my husband Jon. Tats saved my life when my kids were born…just the support and sharing of information was spectacular! As it still is! The only qualification I have to hold this post  is that I have lived through twins trials and tribulations…including starting school!!!

Since the age of 12 I knew that my goal in life was to become a mother, I knew I wanted to have a honeymoon baby, because that was so romantic, and that twins would be wonderful.  I think this contributed to the men in my life heading for the hills!!  Luckily my husband didn’t, and when we returned from honeymoon we found out I was pregnant!  On the morning of my first scan, I made myself a soft boiled egg, and was surprised to find a double yolk.  But thought nothing of it at the time, and the date being September 11th did not hold much meaning either.  So off to the scan we went and were blown away by the news that I was expecting twins.  Our lives have never been the same, and I would do it all over again in a heart beat.  My girls, Tyla Jo and Keli Jade, were born in March 2008, healthy and gorgeous at 35 weeks.  I breast fed them exclusively till they were 14 months, when we decided to have another child. I am currently 7 weeks pregnant, and very excited as to what the future holds!
